Hard time with dinner May 25, 2007
I can do raw very easily breakfast, lunch and snacks. I don’t really even crave cooked food. I’m loving my smoothies, and I even made the most absolutely scrumptious muesli this morning. The recipe came from Shazzies breakfast delights video - http://www.detoxyourworld.com I’m not sure if the recipe is in her books as well, or if you have to buy the dvd. This recipe alone is well worth it. It was bliss. The almond milk was much easier to make than I thought, even with my crappy blender. I still haven’t got my vitamix repaired yet.
anyway, dinner… I have great plans throughout the day on what wonderful raw creation I’m going to make for dinner. I then pick up the kids from day care, and all inspiration is gone. Tonight we had amy’s organic mushroom pizza with carrots and cucumber side munchies. Certainly not a terrible dinner, but I’d really like to get away from the processed dinners. It’s finding stuff the kids will eat as well. My girls would not go anywhere near the muesli this morning. They loved watching me make it, and even tasted (and loved) the almond milk….until we got to the dinner table. At that point, both refused to even take the teeniest taste. We’re trying again this morning, by putting the premade muesli (sans fresh fruit) into a cereal box with a large picture of Ariel (the little mermaid) on both sides of the box. We’re calling it magical mermaid food. This probably won’t work either
this was what I ate today:
super yummy muesli with almond milk
a green smoothie (spinach, romaine, apples, and a banana)
a date or two
a dried apricot or two
a huge bowl of the leftover raw coleslaw from yesterday
and dinner …pizza and veggies
Weight today 229.2
